Arcane Tricks – Random Twitter Poem for Apr 21st
Arcane Tricks is a poem about a traveling wizard and is one of my favorite topics and genre’s. I have written many fantasy poems and even several about wizards, illusionists and tricksters before and this is just another variation with a unique set of words. Thanks to the following random twitter poetry players today for the 11 submissions (in blue):
@BlogLuvr29 (Adaptable), @geb0i (cunning), @christianBON (Paraskevidekatriaphobia), @richwallace (prestigious), @filigreegirl (voussoir), @icebluebanana (fish), @PurpleBEffect (fascination), @cybilscribbles (Servants), @deborah3756 (fiesty), @stevejclark (harbinger), @DaneBlogger (inaudible prayers)
Paraskevidekatriaphobia means an irrational fear of Friday the 13th if you were wondering.
Arcane Tricks
The robed one walks the land
old magician adaptable and cunning
feisty harbinger of prestigious tricks
spewing incantations like inaudible prayers
fascination for both royalty and servants
transfiguring a dead fish to a live mocking bird
that vanishing while flying strait into a voussoir
some frightened and declaring witchcraft balk
as if suffering from Paraskevidekatriaphobia
or other irrational superstitious beliefs
an illusionist, conjurer or entertainer
called all these and many more
traveling from village to village
performing arcane tricks
