Breaking the Mold
The gods created a mold for man and woman
from this mold they seeded the earth
with thousands of humans of every size and color
who flourished and prospered
The gods then tried to make an image of themselves
from the mold they forged they tweaked a bit
a being of pure birth should arise
one to equal them in beauty and wit
Their toils were worth it for she was born
a single woman who stands out against them all
her hair was like the earthen mountains wrapped in silk
her face was exquisite marble and pure as rain
Her mind was sharper than the most keen blade
her power staggered most mortal beings
the gods were in awe of what they had created
the being created was the most perfect of all
As if in defiance of such a gift
the mold sundered behind this mortal girl
the gods tried for decades to fix it
only to find it irreparable
Only a single woman would have this gift
no others could be made the same way again
a being who encapsulates everything mortal and immortal
They broke the mold making you.
