Schizophrenia

Our dark twin waits in line
a turn to take my mind
I sleep away this time
dreaming this life was mine

My turn comes around once more
desolation around me again
my dark twin’s fun and games
a price paid in spades

I am not ready to leave again
my time keeps getting shorter
pieces of lives fractured
when will I be whole

The horrors I face this time
my dark twin must be stopped
turning myself in at last
a ward to call my own

This poem was inspired by the loss of a loved one who was the provider of the family, having no safeguard the person themselves suffers economic despair along with the emotional grief of losing a loved one.

Life Left With Nothing

Through all the years of love
support unconditional and true
a life interrupted by tragedy
I have nothing left of you

My home crumbles around me
disrupted life drifting like dust
a broken heart joined in grief
why wasn’t life insurance a must?

Even in a weaker economy it is wise to have insurance to protect you and your family in case of the worst. It doesn’t cost much to get a cheap policy just to help make sure that your family is well protected in case of a tragedy or worse. I myself have a small policy just to make sure my family can keep everything in order and won’t be forced to lose their home in case something should happen to me.

Shattered Morning

Sunshine flooded through broken glass
pattern of fleeting quirky shadows mocking
a philanthropic flirt of his lunar mistress
flabbergast on being entangled in this quandary
magnanimous fash crashed like climategate scandal
wave of neophobia and a now unstable future sickening
envy turning into regret over one bovine evening
a shattered morning from a terminal mistake

I am a man without identity
A struggle found in every battle
A formless dream with no fruition

As my heart grows stronger
my decaying body withers
festering disease eating my core
wracking spasms grasp my lungs
life spent in the teachings of pain
I am an unwilling student of denial
an intimate relationship shared
built on mutual hatred and deceit
nobody knows her, for she is mine alone

Like a hollow shell
a husk cast from a dead seed
my ghost whispers her name

For the love we once had
a pair of ethereal tears
a phantom heart that cannot break
my ghost whispers her name

The wrongs I have done
the damned rights I have wronged
eternal torment is my comfort
