Cowardly
Feckless humility and regret from Friday’s nightly stroll
a chillax serendipitous park travel migrated too rapidly
decent into an intricate disaster in mere moments it seemed
shadows fell around your footsteps with ominous intent
devoid of any heroic artifice, you scuttled and hid
like an ambiguous incognito tarantula from a dragon
fire of courage was nothing but a flickering candle
an attacker that may have not even existed that night
an action that speaks for your character forever

love it Justin!
am not sure though, which is more coward – the attacked person who was caught by surprise, or the attackers who gang up on him from behind
great work as usual
Roy´s last blog ..One last Christmas wish…
In this poem there was no attacker identified, there was a shadow of someone or something coming up behind but it could have been another jogger, or person or an attacker but it is never identified. Was meant to illustrate the fear and reaction of the person without knowing if there even was a threat.
Enjoyed this one especially as an audio poem.
Thank you!
Thank you for reading it.
