I was literally shocked that I won the Writers Offering Our Finest contest for May 22nd, I was up against 7 other poetry submissions and 5 prose submissions.  The poem that won happened to be written on my blackberry while on a drive to a concert, I often write poetry while on long car rides or when bored.  Congratulations to the other winners this week.

No I don’t use my blackberry while driving, I saw Seven Pounds and any thought I had of checking my blackberry are gone while driving now. But I do get bad blackberry thumb, seriously, I have clicked out 1000 word posts on my blackberry and my thumb knuckles feel like they are going to break.

You shouldn’t be shocked. Your writing is really good. You have a gift for picking out the right words and you write with a perfect balance between the artistic and the message: it is always possible to enjoy your poems both for their sounds and their meaning. Thank you!
