Glee from Failure: Random Twitter Poem for Feb 23rd
Today’s poem Glee From Failure was inspired by picturing how media attention and reviews can go viral after a mishap or horrible performance, for this poem I pictured an actor in a play possibly flubbing lines or falling on stage. This poem was inspired by the 16 random words (in bold) provided by the following Twitter players:
@justjenn68 (birthday), @debraulrich (hashtagitis), @solomonobaje (Jugular), @technicallyeasy (butter), @dave_your_fave (Teleport), @goodyniosi (slipstream), @anefallarme (apocalyptic), @darth_icarus (curmudgeon), @williamm49 (despicable), @justswierk (caterwauling), @malenko10 (Insomnia), @joeycheatsdeath (Jetpacks), @barzane (tragic), @slj (alumni), @sternenfee (spring), @cocktailsnconvo (Style)
Definitions:
Caterwauling – to utter a similar sound; howl or screech, like cats do during rutting time.
Hashtagitis – excessive use of Twitter and Hashtagging (an almost addiction to it).

Glee From Failure
Lacking any epic style
or energetic spring
poor despicable alumni
an apocalyptic performance
which begot tragic responses
We read about it the next day
from bloggers with hashtagitis
birthday caterwauling for the jugular
each curmudgeon with a keyboard
enjoying insomnia induced frenzies
Like a jetpacks slipstream
reviews teleport to the hungry
who crave bashing like butter
why failures inspire glee
one can only wonder
