Hidden Depression

Specious and friendly in public
hiding an intractable morbid despair

As if a victim of an unknown horror
with no exculpatory evidence found

An ingenious, but troubled soul
yet you wouldn’t know a thing

Outward appearance hiding from sight
the emulsion of emotions inside

Until one fateful day that comes
depression coagulated into action

A xiphoid metal pole in a private room
and they didn’t even know him
