My 5 year old and I decided to create a kids poem together, and he volunteered to narrate it. Let us know what you think.
I Wish For A Fish
Mommy, Daddy how I wish
For small little gold fishOne to keep in a bowl or jar
So he won’t swim very farHis colors can be gold or red
I can feed him pieces of breadWe can feed him goldfish food
And he will eat when in the moodI think I shall name him chips
I watch as he opens and closes his lipsHe swims up and gulps some air
I just enjoy sitting down to stareThank you for this fish

My daughter and I just listened to the wish for a fish, I think that this one two could be a kids book, maybe I can try to illustrate it for you and you can look,at the big pictures we draw and paint and embellish of your verse, your boy and you could then decide if your poem fish are better with our pictures to swim in, or worse!
Aaaw… heart warming poetry, I must say, indeed!
A kids poetry with an amazing ability to get smiles from any grown up. Nice work done by you and your lil’ guy there.
Best wishes for 2009.
