Lamenting Winter
Another February through hell and high tide
winter fluke, an unwelcome miscellaneous stranger
icy vine of frost strangling a near vacant city
snow flurries canter a flamenco of desolation
people bunker behind fires and warm company
lamenting being the winner of some armaggedon
and waiting for the world to begin thawing
