Nerves on Fire

A whisper feels like a shout
A simple touch cuts my skin
Eyes blinded by the slightest light
My nerves are on fire

Senses distorted by firing neurons
My body wracked in agony
I seek to make sense of my senses
Which seek to only betray me

Asleep is the only relief
Inert my senses are calm
Awaking to a new day of agony
I live with my nerves on fire
