I could not help but be reminded of morlocks when writing this poem and envisioned maybe some savage race of creatures living under cities waiting for their time to grow in numbers and rise from the deep.

Underdark
We belong in shadow
the juice in city waste
we live down wherever
scrounging on whatever
yeah, our toils are unknown
but wait until we unite
and begin to rise again
