Racing Home To You – Random Twitter Poem for April 7th
- twitter poems
-
Today’s poem is about someone stuck in traffic on a long drive home from work to his partner, it was inspired by the following 7 words (in blue) provided by my followers on twitter:
@jamiain (drowsy), @filigreegirl (engrave), @stnmoon (Sharing), @conradtheart (procrastination), @heatherpro (traffic), @BlazingMinds (juggler), @SurfCityJay (recycle)
Racing Home To You
Sitting drowsy behind the wheel
Stuck in this traffic jam for hours
No phone to call you ahead
You may think my tardiness
An act of procrastination
Or perhaps a failed balance
A poor juggler with my time
Yet the time that we will be sharing
Is of the utmost importance to me
I engrave the memory of your embrace
In my mind as I race home at a snails pace
Wishing I could recycle this lost time
And instead spend it with you
Instead of here
Lost in thought
Behind the wheel

An amazing poem as usual, it still amazes me how you come up these poems so quickly after we’ve tweeted you the words, just brilliant!

Thank you, traffic was the word that inspired today’s poem, for some reason it all fell together when I was reading the random words and that one stuck in my head for the theme.
