Today’s poem was centered on old fashioned 50’s era Mafia type crime organization, with a young person idolizing and joining, only to meet his end. The word that inspired the theme today was consigliere, and I included all 8 words (in blue) from the following people:

Life of Crime

Infatuated with the underground
It all became clear from a young age
Like a rainbow bursting from a thunderstorm
You wanted in on their secret way of life

You worked as a front man for years
Until you infiltrated the macro organization
You met with the consigliere
Shook his hand, kissed his cheek

Yet it all came down in a crash
One night at one restaurant
Rival gang burst in wanting revenge
Tommy Guns blared, bodies fell

Steaming breath escaped from dying lips
You wanted this life since you were a boy
Yet dying on the floor now you wonder
Was it worth it?
