I really enjoyed writing today’s twitter poem which was about how a person who has a hero inside of him comes to the aid of a woman being attacked.  This poem was crafted using the 9 random words provided (in blue) and thanks to my twitter followers below for playing today:

@coyotesqrl (quandry), @NetNutt (kangaroo), @KcWebGeeks (snarfblat), @SurfCityJay (relief), @lejonprime (retrospective), @BlazingMinds (collections), @azredneck (black), @Yochanan (master), @bingkaycoy (unequivocal)

Heart Of A Hero

Walking down the busy city streets late one summer night
A woman wearing black heels in a dress of pure white

I bore witness to something so startling and vile
A situation ensued one that was most hostile

A man attacks her in front of me, barely thirty yards away
A knife in his left hand the blade flashes gray

The quandry before me leaves me little time to act
A weapon to harass or defend myself, I sorely lacked

In my head the sharp trumpeting sound of a little snarfblat
Mind screaming DO SOMETHING, oh how I wished for a bat

My heart pounding like a kangaroo jumping in my chest
I had to do something, I had never felt more stressed

Lunging at the assailant my briefcase as my shield
The knife lodges and sticks, my attacker reeled

With the skill and grace of a boxing master
I struck blow after blow faster and faster

My nerves were shot and my body shaking
Stomach queasy and my knuckles were aching

Relief filled her eyes, her expression told all
No need for thanks I blurt out as I leaned on a wall

Accepting no collections for my assistance
I refused any payment despite her insistence

She stood by my side, the police came shortly thereafter
I explained the situation followed up with some nervous laughter

In retrospective thought there was an unequivocal truth
I had the heart of a hero and this was my proof
