Today’s twitter poem contained 13 words that were so random that I didn’t know if I would come up with a theme, but as I sat there staring at the words I started to imagine kids playing in a snow covered playground. I started to see the words fit into the poem to describe kids at play and I just started writing. This poem is the result. Thanks to the following twitter friends who send me the random words (in blue):

@WebBetty (reprehensible), @DavidMercury (flourish), @wizzardsblog (merlot), @coyotesqrl (luxuriate), @Jan_Geronimo (sandbox), @MesaAzHomes (plethora), @kar314 (snowflake), @Miragi (orgasmic), @or1gb1u3 (monkey), @Dr_Dalek (eviscerate), @blm03 (excited), @SurfCityJay (usability), @darksaturn7 (parachute)

Winter Child’s Play

Playground seeming magical and enchanting to all
Excited kids luxuriate in this constant snowfall

A snowflake falling and caught by a tongue
Orgasmic screams heard, from children so young

Merlot colored truck burrowing through snow
Aura of laughter creating a surreal glow

Sandbox covered in powdered white stars
Glove wearing hands swinging from monkey bars

A fake sword from its scabbard released
To eviscerate some unseen imaginary beast

A plethora of games and creative creations
The wonder of many children’s imaginations

A frozen swing whose usability should be in question
Kids jumping off with their comical parachute impressions

The only reprehensible act an occasional snow ball
Nothing mean enough that would lead to a brawl

Laughter will flourish for many more hours
Then all will go home and take nice hot showers
