Rising Earth

An ancient ambiguous juggernaut sleeps
epicenter rocks with instantaneous activity
loquacious groaning earth felt all around Hawaii
a now woken monster, some god’s assigned usufruct
with obliging fidelity, an inactive designation debunked
outsource of power boiling earth into gazpacho
fire and rock pump bleak chum particulate art into the sky
ash and crystalline smoke, a noxious irritant spreading
startled animals panic and flee on pure intuition
unable to find a scapegoat to blame this on
the might now Earth judges all
