Today’s poem is one of someone trying to play like somethings wrong only to use it as a ruse to surprise their partner with a present. It was inspired by the 11 random words (in blue) provided by the following twitter followers:

Surprise Gift

A relationship strong yet uneasy today
a subtle distance for no known reason
emotions buried in some sarcophagus
a gallery of causes left to the unknown

No justification she could think of
being a focused egosurfing insensitive jerk
as if the relationship were no more
than a minuet dance or game of quoit

A box pulled out from his pocket slapdash
opened to reveal a pendant of lapis lazuli
her eyes fogging over with tears
only an act to hide the surprise
