21 Jan 2009
I was in a very energetic mood today and enjoyed creating this poem which I find to be quite humorous based on the 12 random words provided to me from twitter. I also felt like narrating the poem so I recorded it and posted it (you can click the play button at the top of this post to listen to me reading the poem). Thanks to all my twitter followers who played today and submitted words (in blue):
@Miragi (insipid), @grumpy79 (stressed), @reluctantaqua (energy), @coyotesqrl (inflection), @SurfCityJay (staff), @kar314 (fever), @or1gb1u3 (samurai), @azredneck (apple), @billnega (grunt), @cheth (dragon), @infohwyman , serendipity), @howelegant (neatly)
As always, if you want to play my twitter poetry game just send me a word to @dragonblogger on twitter every weekday, I look forward to creating more unique poems based from random words.
The Gifted Telemarketer
You take a bite out of the insipid green apple
Washing it down with a gulp of your Snapple
Stressed as always, wishing you could laugh
About being a grunt, just one of the company’s staffJust as you are pondering those things
Inside your house the phone then rings
A neatly laid pitch over the phone
Serendipity can be yours something never knownThe altering inflection of the persons voice
Doing its job convincing you have no choice
Sharing a few dozen reasons about how why
Without this product people would just dieLike a noble samurai cutting through an ancient evil
Or villagers rising against a dragon in a great upheaval
The enthusiastic energy drives you almost into a fever
The words spoken over the phone converting you into a believerFor a small price of nineteen ninety nine
Your life can go from boring to fine
Think of all that you can construct
Just from owning this fine product-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Bug In A Tank
- Audio Poetry, Kid Poems
-
05 Jan 2009
I wrote another poem with my young son at his request, I let him come up with a title and some of the lines and together we created the rhyming lines. He did the voice recording and enjoyed it the entire time.
Bug In A Tank
This is my bug in the tank
Which I have my dad to thankHe caught it for me
Found it in a treeIt can be called a grasshopper
but really locust is more properIt jumps up in the air so high
I hope that away it won’t flyIt eats sticks and leaves so green
I keep the tank all nice and cleanSpeckled yellow with brown spots
Even having some white dotsFinding him was good luck
But momma thinks bugs are yuck-Poem by Dragon Blogger and Son
