Today’s random twitter poem was fun to write and consisted of 12 words (in blue) provided by my twitter followers:
@MalindaBlue (gratitude), @Sweetnote (renaissance), @jamiain (whiny), @jollything (biscuit), @Miragi (sapphire), @coyotesqrl (survive), @benjphoto (paraclete), @BlazingMinds (hippo), @chercroppin23 (please), @wizzardsblog (bimbling), @lejonprime (cryptic), @SurfCityJay (blue)This poem is about magic and entertainment as an illusionist wows the audience, the word renaissance really triggered the theme for this poem for me. What do you all think of today’s random twitter poem?
The Illusionist
Wearing deep sapphire robes with emerald trim
A man straight from the renaissance stands tall
His elegance and appearance all neat and prim
Flowing over his right shoulder a cryptic golden shawl“Silence please” he calls to his fans
Young whiny kids all hush down
Amazing dexterity as he moves his hands
Pulling flowers from air, amazing the townA biscuit turned into an apple, a magical feat
A trick so spectacular did, it invoke the paraclete?
No bimbling performance given this night
As the next trick was quite an amazing sightDid we just see a table transfigured into a hippo
And blue fire spouting from fingertips as if from a zippo
Locked in chains and held in water trying to wrestle free
How he managed to survive and escape just baffles meAmazing was that one final act designed to entertain
Some would have considered the illusionist insane
The illusionists gratitude to the people is clear
As the audience stands up casting shouts and cheer-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Random Twitter Poem For February 5th
- Light Poems, twitter poems

05 Feb 2009
Today’s twitter poem contained 13 words that were so random that I didn’t know if I would come up with a theme, but as I sat there staring at the words I started to imagine kids playing in a snow covered playground. I started to see the words fit into the poem to describe kids at play and I just started writing. This poem is the result. Thanks to the following twitter friends who send me the random words (in blue):
@WebBetty (reprehensible), @DavidMercury (flourish), @wizzardsblog (merlot), @coyotesqrl (luxuriate), @Jan_Geronimo (sandbox), @MesaAzHomes (plethora), @kar314 (snowflake), @Miragi (orgasmic), @or1gb1u3 (monkey), @Dr_Dalek (eviscerate), @blm03 (excited), @SurfCityJay (usability), @darksaturn7 (parachute)
Winter Child’s Play
Playground seeming magical and enchanting to all
Excited kids luxuriate in this constant snowfallA snowflake falling and caught by a tongue
Orgasmic screams heard, from children so youngMerlot colored truck burrowing through snow
Aura of laughter creating a surreal glowSandbox covered in powdered white stars
Glove wearing hands swinging from monkey barsA fake sword from its scabbard released
To eviscerate some unseen imaginary beastA plethora of games and creative creations
The wonder of many children’s imaginationsA frozen swing whose usability should be in question
Kids jumping off with their comical parachute impressionsThe only reprehensible act an occasional snow ball
Nothing mean enough that would lead to a brawlLaughter will flourish for many more hours
Then all will go home and take nice hot showers-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Bug In A Tank
- Audio Poetry, Kid Poems

05 Jan 2009
I wrote another poem with my young son at his request, I let him come up with a title and some of the lines and together we created the rhyming lines. He did the voice recording and enjoyed it the entire time.
Bug In A Tank
This is my bug in the tank
Which I have my dad to thankHe caught it for me
Found it in a treeIt can be called a grasshopper
but really locust is more properIt jumps up in the air so high
I hope that away it won’t flyIt eats sticks and leaves so green
I keep the tank all nice and cleanSpeckled yellow with brown spots
Even having some white dotsFinding him was good luck
But momma thinks bugs are yuck-Poem by Dragon Blogger and Son
