Our Boston Terrier
- Light Poems

In honor of our beloved dog who had to be put to sleep after his health was too badly impacted by constant violent seizures, I wrote this poem to honor his memory to our family. This was the best dog and family friend anyone could ask for.

Our Boston Terrier
A striped white head
On brindle colored body
Majestic stance of a statue
Energy level of the godsYou ran through our hearts
You ran through our soul
A child not of human flesh and bone
But of our spirit and familyA smile graced your face
A playful bark every day
You are the joy of our home
You bring smiles every dayYou bring so much love
Tender heart care too much
Even when ill you try to comfort
You deserve the comfort nowSweet, Tender dog of ours
May you find peace in the end
You deserve to run fields
And chase lizards forever in timeThank you for the memories
And sharing our warm home
Each time you had an accident
Perhaps we expected too muchEight years was surely not enough
Your friendship and companionship too short
You were the best friend on four legs ever
You were like another child to usDedicated To Our Loving Boston Terrier: Gouda Emmenthaler Germino

Furry Four Legged Friend
I see you staring at me
Freedom blocked by clear pane of suffering
You must feel lonely and afraid
Yet you only show love and affectionyour soft nose melts against the glass
your eyes plead to my heart
your little cries and gentle squeels
soften me a bit moreI was about to walk past
Ignore this intrusion in my busy day
But something about you interrupted that
In a most special wayBefore I have time to think I act
Never considering it a mistake
A rash decision based on pure emotion
You won me over in less than a minuteShall I call you Buster, Ben or Bear
You are brown as the dusky earth
With some white spots like sprinkled snowflakes
You are part of my family nowPoem by Dragon Blogger
