What To Be Thankful For
Be thankful you have a heart that still beats
Be thankful you have a babe that still sleeps
Be thankful the world still turns
Be thankful that fire still burns
Be thankful of all that you hold dear
Be thankful for that last case of beer
Be thankful the world is still right
Be thankful for day and thankful for night
Be thankful if you are rich or poor
Be thankful if you have less but aspire for more
Be thankful if you are better off than some
Be thankful even if you live in a slum
Be thankful for earths diverse creatures
Be thankful especially for our childrens teachers
Be thankful for all peoples variety
Be thankful for all of societyHappy Day Before Thanksgiving my readers

The Onion
I cry clear tears if you cut me
You shall cry too in return
My lines run in circles
My rings too numerousI can be as sweet as an apple
I can be as potent as a brew
I can enhance flavor
or I can steal it from youSo bite into me
Savor my unique taste
carve me to decorate your plate
serve me as rings or bitsMy red skin can garnish
My pulp can satiate
On a hamburger I am divine
I am the onionPoem by Dragon Blogger

An Oyster’s Pearls
Black and gray with silver swirls
Concealed within are priceless pearls
Collected and fashioned into whorls
And worn just under a lady’s curlsFound living deep beneath the sea
We dive for them in a hunting spree
Hoping to find not one or two, but three
Harvest them up and set their cargo freeThis is what we want from them
For people crave that precious gem
For the look they give upon their femme
But this harvesting some would condemn-Poem by Dragon Blogger

The Dragon and The Knight
A glint of light off an emerald scale
a tooth the color of amber
an eye so bright and full of intellect
a horn the color of obsidianyou stand there knees wobbly
about to fall and plead for life
realizing you stand no chance
you say your prayers and wait for the finishInstead of suffering you are granted mercy
the great beast decides to speak
to what do I owe this presence
and why do you appear so weak? You explain your intentions that you were for hire
the people need protection from his great fire
but you realize you made a mistake
believing a rumor which turned out to be fakeYou simple knight of no great honor
I will spare you a life if you can do just this thing
learn to have faith and not believe not the other
you can’t always judge a book by its coverSo just like that the beast had set me free
and it was then I realized its full majesty
here was a being who could not be evil
and I vowed that day to become a better knight-Poem by Dragon Blogger
