The Creature

This beast covered in fur walks like a Sasquatch
It’s appearance brings forth jeers and derision
Farmers and villagers pitch tomatoes, potatoes and peppers
Pelting this beast whom they try to drive off

Some oil soaked torches a spark of flint and steel
combustion occurs, fire to burn the beast
A pitchfork is thrown with spot on accuracy
It pierces the monsters atrial septum

The creature is not harmed but smiling instead
Removing the weapon from its chest it cries out
The wound closes with supernatural regeneration
The monster stares at the crowd with unknown intent

The creature then draws a sudden intake of breath
Out is exhaled a putrid green noxious cloud
That rolls over the farmers like a great morning fog
They realize too late the cloud is an anesthetic

Falling to the ground unaware of their fate
Their limbs and consciousness melt like margarine
Some wonder if they will ever awake again
Then the last man falls and the story might end

Instead eyes open many hours later
People wake up groggy unsure of what happened
The creature harmed nobody it would seem
So maybe the monster was not a monster after all

Random Twitter Poem For November 21st

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Light Poems

This poem today was voted to be a light poem and consisted from 7 words (highlighted in blue) provided to me by my twitter friends.  Thanks to the following people for providing me with a word today:  @summerbreeze80, @SJohnson85, @lejonprime, @reginasuniverse, @wizard1974uk, @coyotesqrl, @SurfCityJay

Coming Out Of Your Cocoon

You simple and sanguine little creature
Spending your days growing rotund
Feasting from the flora of the world
Foraging and finding the food yourself
For there is no pie maker to make life easy

When you are gorged to completion
And can swallow no more
You wrap yourself in this silk
This body is now superfluous
And you prepare for your metamorphosis

Barely a whisper from the silk that splits
And you emerge from your cocoon at last
All those around you are stunned to silence
By such colorful and resplendent wings
Your new life begins and you never look back

Random Twitter Poem For November 19th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

Today’s twitter poem consisted of six words provided by my fellow twitter friends two of whom contributed for the first time.  All random words that were provided are highlighted in blue, thank you to the following people for contributing:  @lejonprime, @SurfCityJay, @coyotesqrl, @uzziemom, @wizard1974uk, @SJohnson85

This poem was very much inspired by the TV Show of the same name.

The Pretender

Who are you my friend and what do you do
Is what I ask to someone who has no name
Someone who has no role yet assumes so many
And lives a life between the shadows

With unpredictable gonzo tendencies
Your paths as multihued as the rainbow
One uniform you may wear today
Only to change into another tomorrow

One day you may work at a deli
packaging and selling salami
another in the hospital wing
assessing a patient for charity

Nobody would think you an impostor
You assume the roles so naturally
Everyone is drawn to your charisma
As the moths are drawn to the light

How can one live when they don’t know who they are
This is a testament to your fortitude
Slow down now and reveal your true self
Stop living the way of The Pretender

Twitter Poem Contest for November 17th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

Today’s twitter poem was crafted while I sat in a presentation at CA World, I jotted down the random notes and scribbled the poem on my notebook, rushed up during my first break and put it into this post:  Today’s poetry contest contained 6 random words highlighted in blue, provided by the following people and I appreciate the contribution my friends:  @jennieduv, @lejonprime, @coyotesqrl, @Imantion, @WebBetty, @SuftCityJay

Lies

You speak to me in a firestorm of deception
You would stain my soul and adulterate my heart
would you continue to accost my feelings like a one-armed bandit?
This web of deceit must end

I cannot be sustained by this dark radiance
your words cut and sting without mercy
should someone learn how the web should be woven
your innocence will be undone

who knows your true motives and feelings
when you equivocate your intentions so
the truth lies in broken pieces
maybe I need to escape this insanity

Dragon Blogger Random Haikus

   Posted by: dragonblogger    in Haiku

I had used some of these Haiku’s for a contest and many never ended up as admissions so instead of letting them go to waste decided to make a blog post with all my random Haiku’s from last week.

Random Haikus

Love is Lost This Day
You Split My Heart To Pieces
Choking On Your Tears

My Lady Drives Me
All Day And Night To Passion
Crash Amongst These Pillows

Being Afraid Sucks
Life Passes You By All Day
Trapped In Your Own Mind

Feel Like A Burger
Stomach is Growling At Me
Must Go To Lunch Now

Tweet This And Tweet That
Tweety Bird Is Afraid Of Cat
Poor Poor Puddy Cat

Save These Ten Digits
On Them Your Life Will Depend
One Call Will Save You

My Wife Would Love Gift
MacBook Is The Perfect One
I Win I Have Fun

A Flight Away Is
All I Will Be This Week Son
I Will Be Home Soon

Severing Pinkies
Severing Thumbs And Toes
Fingers In A Jar

Only More Is Less
Only Less Is More Sometimes
You Figure It Out

Fate Has Its Moments
Lovers Trapped In An Embrace
Passion Is Not Lost

Truth Between The Sheets
This Girl Completes Me Tonight
She Shall Be My Wife

Poetic Justice
The Irony Is Foretold
Go Seek Forgiveness

A Flash

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Love Poems

A Flash

A flash and my mind goes numb
did I just see this girl walk past
my heart stopped beating and time stood still
just enough time to gaze at her beauty

A flash and I had to act quickly
before this lady left my life forever
how would I get her to notice me
my hopes and dreams rest on this second

A flash and I reacted on instinct
her hand came into contact with mine
a jolt of surreal knocked back my senses
this girl just overloaded my mind

A flash and my eyes met hers
a small smile crept on her face
she knew my thoughts and I felt hers
that was all it took to win her

Fifty years later that lady is still with me
How I remember each and every flash of our lives
our children our grown and our time is dwindling
what a life I have lead and it will end in a flash.

Afraid

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Dark Poems

Afraid

You stand six feet six
And we all think you have no fear
As you tower over the rest

Yet you are small inside
Fearful of the others who judge you
As you tower over the rest

Will I lose my job today?
Will I lose my wife?
Will I get hurt driving home?
Will I lose my life?

Will I be judged as a man or mouse?
Will I ever find happiness?
Will my children be proud of me?

Will people think of me when I am gone?
Will I be remembered with respect?
Will I be remembered fondly?

You stand six feet six
And you are more afraid
Than anyone could ever realize

Twitter Random Poem For November 10th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Love Poems, twitter poems

This poem today was crafted from seven words provided to me by tweeple on twitter. I really enjoy doing this contest where I just ask people to send me random words on twitter and I create a completely original and new poem using the crafted words from scratch. It only takes me about 10 minutes to create a poem once I find a common theme for the words. Let me know what you think of today’s contest poem. (All of the Twitter words provided are highlighted in blue)

Waiting For Your Return

We embraced and said our goodbyes
You would return soon
Time has now slowed to a crawl
As I sit at home thinking of you

Sing me a song in the coldest of winters
Where the wind blows and chill sets in
My sweat will freeze into icicles
My heart will crystallize until it feels your warmth

Love is the only verisimilitude
All I do is lay at night
Waiting to witness your majestic beauty
And this absence leaves me with an excruciating loneliness

So I lay here feeling blue and care to remember
the last time I felt your kiss
our eyes danced with each other
and our hearts beat as one

Thank you to the following people for providing me with the random words:  @miriella, @brullig, @reginasuniverse, @lejonprime, @Imantion, @coyotesqrl, @SurfCityJay

Twitter Random Poem for November 6th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Misc Poems, twitter poems

Had some tough words today from my tweeple on twitter, but managed to craft a poem and dedicate it to all you hard working mom’s out there. Raising children is the hardest and most rewarding job of all, give your self some love. Here is my random poem today crafted from random twitter words: (All of the Twitter words provided are highlighted in blue)

A Woman, A Mother, A Lover

A woman so educated in the ways of my heart
to be next to her is to feel enebriated
the rush of blood goes to my head

A mother who can puree a childs fear into applesauce
and make the world seem good again
children nourished by her warmth

A lover who can take forlorn feelings
and spin them into an infundibuliform cloud
then blow it away with a sweet embrace

A woman who some would think doesn’t do much
being a housewife who doesn’t work for real
yet has a job that few can do

A mother who is responsible for some lives
nothing can be more rewarding and difficult
a job that has more tenticles than a squid

A lover who can take my breath away
at the end of the night when all is quiet
and we steal a moment alone from the world

Twitter Random Poem for November 4th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

I periodically ask people on twitter who follow me to randomly submit me a word and I will craft a unique poem involving the words I am given.  Today I received 6 words that all flowed together for me to find a common theme.  Here are my results:  (All of the Twitter words provided are highlighted in blue)

Death Rides In From The Vast Ocean

The poison tide rolls in
acidic fog steals your breath
this is but one sign
of the harbinger known as death

Your fellow man will bootleg your soul
to save his own from this awful fate
So death comes forward in a tidal wave
riding on the back of skeletal hippopotamuses

His scythe in hand your vision grows dark
people scatter before him like ants
you try to run but your knees are wobbly
instead falling to the ground begging for your life

You scream for your life but no words come out
all you taste before the end of the road
is the acrid salty seaweed sliding down your throat
the tide sweeps over you and all is lost

-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Thanks to the following Tweeple who provided the words today:  @cre8nnov8, @coyotesqrl, @jayjo, @TheDailyBlonde, @miriella, @reginasuniverse.

So let me know what you think people, leave a comment or tweet me back on twitter (@dragonblogger).
