The Enchanted Pond

The aged woman knew her time drew near
Reflecting on the past, invoking a tear
Ninety decades of life upon this earth
She had once created life by giving birth

She had seen love come and love go
Like icebergs on a cold river flow
Seeing friends and family as well
Her memories are her stories to tell

Dwindling health for these past few days
A fever set in leaving her in a foggy daze
Wearing undergarments and moleskin on top
Laying on the bed using pillows as a prop

She lay there hands folded and fingers intertwined
Peace and salvation she was hoping to find
You could not have called her a fussbudget in life
She caused nobody harm and never caused strife

As she weakened and her death seemed so certain
She moved to the window and drew back the curtain
Amazed what she saw her wishes had come true
A new pond sat in the yard, its water so blue

Her intentions were clear and she knew her direction
Her children protested and voiced their rejection
Her superfluous intention just was not in the norm
She shuffled past her family and out in the storm

Something fierce drove her faster toward the water
One final shout and protest erupted from her daughter
She waded in, incorporating her body with the pool
Her family astounded and thinking her a fool

Magic then happened as her body filled with vitality
What could not be possible was indeed a reality
She started to rejuvenate in front of their eyes
The family stunned at this wonderful suprise

Her wrinkles had vanished, color returned to her face
Breathing so deeply she held her arms out to embrace
Her family rushed forward to her all getting wet
This miracle that occured no one would ever forget

The woman who was over ninety looked twenty again
Her illness and body healed, including her brain
It is as if a wizard had waved a magical wand
All of this from bathing in that enchanted pond

The Vampire and Me

I invited him this dark and stormy night
We sat at round oak table discussing our fate
My fate was in my hands and this choice was mine
My life was about to take a curve with no turn back

Then the creature once of Turkish descent spoke
I could feel his voice resonate in my mind
Are you sure you dare choose this life?
There is no turning back from this fate

Your former life must be completely erasable
Nobody can know you anymore and you will be dead
Rising again in undeath to forever live in darkness
We shall reciprocate this gift of blood if you still choose

I agreed once again, I had made my choice
The price was small compared to the power of immortality
The vampire smiled at me and rising from his chair
He towered over me like a great undead behemoth

With a movement so fast I caught nothing but a blur
I felt a prick upon my neck sending chills up my spine
The wound at first I thought superficial and small
Then I noticed how wrong I really was

Blood sprayed the nearby table in a torrential downpour
The polished schist floor collecting dots of rouge
I would have to act quickly or I would exsanguinate
The vampire watched silently with nothing but a smile

I collapsed then my knees buckling beneath me
Why do I feel as if I had been tricked
My vision became fuzzy the vampire was moving toward me
I heard but one word echo from his lips

Now bite and drink and become one with me
My last action was to sink my teeth and grip
Icy cold flesh feeling like rubber between my lips
Thick black blood so cold it burned my throat

But I drank with the force and fury of my final act
Choking and wanting to vomit I held it down
Then my body went slack and my head hit the floor
My vision blacked out and I was sure I was no more

A moment later my dining room was before me
Not a trace of blood or a disheveled chair at all
I sat at a table with a pen in my hand a book under my gaze
Scribbled notes upon the pages and a title above the rest

A World That Sleeps

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Misc Poems

A World That Sleeps

A drifting planet in an endless ocean
Discovery hanging on a thread of hope
A sphere so blue it captures your breath
Yet something even more unique is found

A world stands out from the other eight
On this world life exists and procreates
As many species as stars in the galaxy
Some have strength and some have stamina

Others are drawn to pen and book
One race seems to rule them all
Yet still so small, lacking so much knowledge
A world so busy yet and still a world that sleeps

The sun shines and the world barely understands
How the planet spins let alone the universe’s plans
So much to learn yet people are so simple
Warring for goods and land with out any principle

Should a focus be set upon anything could be achieved
This world is finite and soon its limit will be reached
What will it take to expand your point of view
This world will change sooner than later

People come together and pool your greatest minds
Solve the greatest riddles, become masters of your time
Brilliance comes from many nations fighting for the best
Discover a common purpose and put yourself to the test

You are not alone out in this great pond
Others lie just beyond your reach
Pool your knowledge and furnish your future
Life lies among the stars if you seek it

Joint Poem With SummerDragon80

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Collaborative Poems

Jenn and I decided to try a little poetry experiment where we would collaboratively create a poem. It started with an email with one poetry line and then a response with the second line and continued until we both thought the poem was finished. Neither one of us would know what the other would write, after the poem was completed we each came up with a list of titles and chose which one seemed to fit best.

I liked A Lone Wolf’s Heart, so I am re-posting the full poem. You should check out Before I Am Famous and Dragonfly Poems for Jenn’s other work, she is one of the people who inspired me to create a poetry blog in the first place.

A Lone Wolf’s Heart

Release these chains around your wrists
Stand naked before the weeping moon
The Howling wolves within your heart
Consuming fires engulf your lonely soul

Will you find that long lost love?
Will you find your savior from wretchedness?
Your bleeding heart shall shed no more tears
I am waiting in the shadows to join you
Where is your knight to slay the dragon?

To free you from the dark serpents
Justice and valor seem a distant memory
Come and let me enrapture you
Kiss me tender then kiss me firm
Our loneliness vanishes. In the inferno from the dragon’s mouth our bodies melt
Passion is assured with my heart being saved

Dragon Blogger Random Haikus

   Posted by: dragonblogger    in Haiku

I had used some of these Haiku’s for a contest and many never ended up as admissions so instead of letting them go to waste decided to make a blog post with all my random Haiku’s from last week.

Random Haikus

Love is Lost This Day
You Split My Heart To Pieces
Choking On Your Tears

My Lady Drives Me
All Day And Night To Passion
Crash Amongst These Pillows

Being Afraid Sucks
Life Passes You By All Day
Trapped In Your Own Mind

Feel Like A Burger
Stomach is Growling At Me
Must Go To Lunch Now

Tweet This And Tweet That
Tweety Bird Is Afraid Of Cat
Poor Poor Puddy Cat

Save These Ten Digits
On Them Your Life Will Depend
One Call Will Save You

My Wife Would Love Gift
MacBook Is The Perfect One
I Win I Have Fun

A Flight Away Is
All I Will Be This Week Son
I Will Be Home Soon

Severing Pinkies
Severing Thumbs And Toes
Fingers In A Jar

Only More Is Less
Only Less Is More Sometimes
You Figure It Out

Fate Has Its Moments
Lovers Trapped In An Embrace
Passion Is Not Lost

Truth Between The Sheets
This Girl Completes Me Tonight
She Shall Be My Wife

Poetic Justice
The Irony Is Foretold
Go Seek Forgiveness

Sorry For Being Born

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Dark Poems

Sorry For Being Born

I am sorry for being born
I sit here now with shame and scorn
I am filled with so much hate
Worst of all you can’t relate

I am sorry for being born
Creatures like me are very torn
We can only destroy and never create
We try to fix wrongs but its too late

I am sorry for being born
My life was pricked by a thorn
I have no excuse for my life
I should take it back with a knife

So much guilt and so much blame
I want to rage I want to maim
I am tired of playing a pawn
In the morning I will be gone

How Dare You

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Misc Poems, twitter poems

This poem was crafted using random words I asked people to tweet me on Twitter, I highlighted the random words in blue.  This poem is about people who are rude, selfish, unkind and ignorant.

How Dare You

You steal the luminescence from all those around you
Running through life as a blunderbuss
Not caring how others think and feel
Your ignorance is your downfall

That woman you pushed and that man you assaulted
Just trying to get ahead in a line or life
You should have faith and try to be thankful
A little kindess can calm your spirit

You take love and risk throwing it away
Why because you are scared and cannot commit
You cannot spread human emotion like jelly
Eventually life will be left tasteless

Your face sours when you look upon that man
Does the color of his skin not agree with you
Should he be cast off this earth
Like jetsam thrown from a ship

Does your life taste like acidic clamato
Your friendships dwindle till you are barren
Or is this sudden snafu by choice
and you push people away for fear of rejection

Heed me now you cruel and angry people
Love and Life shall not be lost
Serendipity is found by those who don’t seek it
Turn your anger into compassion

-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Thanks to all my tweeple who provided me with the random words:  @summerbreeze80, @coyotesqrl, @durtbagz, @miriella, @reginasuniverse, @benjphoto, @RobinJP, @WhiskeyChick

Fire Burning In My Eyes

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Love Poems

Fire Burning In My Eyes

Fire burns so very bright
your face aglow in this great white light
This fire radiates from deep within me
A flame with no heat that you can see

This fire may seem like a frightening rage
it may trap my soul within a cage
or beckon your spirit to join me in here
but really it burns to bring you near

So douse my eyes with your beauty
when my fire dies you will not get sooty
disrobe and lets start to put my fire out
your sweat quenches my body’s drought

So at last I lie drenched and cool
my body and my heart you rule
my passion for you knows no bounds
I must be careful not to drown

Dementia

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Dark Poems

Happy Halloween Everyone, I wrote this one years ago, but I find it appropriate for Halloween even though it is about losing ones sanity and raving with vengeance.

Dementia
Ghostly daemons stabbing at my psyche,
Leeching the love of those around me
Ghastly cowards feasting on my senses
You bastards surround me

Hatred and Putrid beings all around me
Mocking and poking with their cocky ways
How they all shall breathe their final breath
When I get my way
