Unusual Spectacle is today’s poem and is loosely inspired by the Wizard of Oz, the mystic, erudite and contraption all made me think of the great Wizard. This poem included 13 submisssions (in blue) one of them was a 3 word phrase. Thanks to the following twitter players for joining today:

Unusual Spectacle

Erudite claiming to be from some great wonderland
prolific mystic in a shimmering black bowler hat
emitting a glaring look of frustration and angst
humour devoid in the nearby broken contraption
cursing his own nimble trust of some mechanic
in loud rhapsodist epithets for all to hear
curious crowds gather around the palm tree
as the wandering magician tinkerer rants
making an unusual spectacle

Last Great Battle

The great equalizer of Ragnarok
valor tested of unicorns and men alike
demons of greed and destruction besieging
blood stains grass like spilled coffee
screams twitter a harmonious intonation
exhausted as battle fatigue sets in
another ally tossed like a tumbleweed
captivated horror as his body crumbles
agog free spirits die this day
heavens reentry a last reward
at the last great battle

My lady, he says to her
fear no more this way
for I shall save you
this very day

My charming knight
I trust in you
having been here before
I do love you

My lady, he says to her
our troubles are done
evil is vanquished
we have won

You’re not only strong
But also smart
and you’ve always had

This poem is more like a story even than “The Package” which I wrote yesterday, it just flowed that way and was not intentional. This is a story about a magical creature pulled from the sea was inspired by the 13 random words (in blue) from my twitter followers below:

The Adamantium Lobster

In a time where the zeitgeist
was full of magic and progression
A day of sunshine well remembered
oddity caught with a spike trap
a spawn of the sea was found
a creature unlike any other
known as the adamantium lobster

The ecstatic lobsterman had a great plan
which the creature would soon diverge
the lobster pranced around like mad
as if trying to perform the bunny hug
it looked as if it were on display
at some Rokeby museum pavilion

Cutting its way through the trap
with armored claws harder than steel
The man made one last ditch attempt
a jalapeno colored net cast with a mighty zeal
this of course, a laughable approach

The net was torn, and the lobster free
escaping so simply amazingly rapidly
the man just blinked disbelievingly
as the creature returned into the sea
