Today’s random twitter poem is about a mighty Griffin who sometimes makes bargains with people and will trade for its treasure.  Inspired by the word “griffin” provided I thought it a little whimsical and fun.  I often do mythological beast poems and have done similar ones previously.  Thanks to the following people for the 11 random words (in blue) provided:

@theotherbed (snarky), @Zorlone (griffin), @R_Arblaster (orgasmatron), @JenaIsle (prestidigitation), @RemBeatZ (customers), @cjweb (articulate), @anefallarme (nougatocity), @twitlaureate (penultimate), @Zorlone (terracotta), @stnmoon (tools), @lejonprime (rictus)

Griffin Exchange

Creature with body of a savage lion
head of a some mammoth eagle

The griffin stands royal and majestic
rictus of its mouth emitting non articulate noises

Terracotta colored feathers ruffle in the wind
claws, razer sharp like deadly tools firmly planted

Unsure of whether you will be a customer
or the monster’s next fancy meal

You bring out your offering and hold it up
a snarky expression on the giant eagle face

In a disturbingly eerie prestidigitation
The creature rises on its back legs and roars

The scream sending tingles up your spine
sensation not unlike one by an orgasmatron

Penultimate thoughts swept away in silence
feeling of nougatocity numbing your core

As it turns out, the creature accepts your offering
and plucks it from your hands with surprising grace

Sliding over a single golden object, a treasure
you realize the bargain was successful
