A murderer and a scoundrel
A man lies slain upon the ground
Justice he cries was found in death
Those who doubt shall see reason

A girl who saw the whole tale
Knew the truth of the scene
A robbery had gone awry
The victim had become the victor

The judge and jury deem him wrong
Just don’t buy his self defense
Forensics inconclusive no proof found
Where is innocent until proven guilty?

The girl too scared to come forward
Vindication would have been found
Her silent prayer just isn’t enough
To prevent the hanging that occurs

I Am Light, I Am Dark

I bring the light which shines your path
I help those who look for salvation
I comfort your children and your elderly
I am the one who inspires morality

I bleed the dark and feast on your future
I am the one people fear to meet
I stand alone with your shadows behind me
I am the purveyor of all your sins

I am the light who fills your life with hope
I am also the vast dark who keeps your secrets
I am everything both light and dark within you
I am just a phantom of your reflection

This war we fight leaves both sides drained
Our will crumbles like a stale old saltine
A ceasefire ensues so we can pursue another path

We bring to the table all our hopes and fears
Afraid each will try to finagle this treaty
After pondering for hours we decide to move forward

Let us unite into a new federation
So tractor your leaders and followers alike
bring them forth so that we may reach this concord

Read and sign this paper into a contract
Bring forth our alliance and peace to all
A new day begins and we delight that we are now brothers

You Will Always Be My Love

I was born with a single purpose
A soul who was lost without a mate
A journey I have undertaken
Our lives are the only stakes

In finding you I felt whole
In loving you I am complete
My soul is in peace and my mind at rest
With you by my side the world is at my feet

We have had our fair share of pain
And a sprinkle of some grief
But destiny would challenge us so
As if to test if we are true

So loving you is loving me
My heart shall know no other
For you are the greatest treasure

The Final Dream

Shake me from this unending dream
The voices of death echoing in my head
This turbulent sleep will cause my mind to become unscrewed
As the most dreaded of nightmares this one takes my mortality

My dream speaks of how my life will end
But is told in an obscure and circumlocutory way
I stand catering to a crowd which gazes up at me
As a mariachi who plays for an audience

Hang him they yell, crucify him they say
I cannot fathom which deed I have done
My hands our bound and my mouth is roped shut
Blades are unveiled and I will soon be cut

Give me a moment to say a quick prayer
then the heat of the knife as it singes my hair
my skin tears right open and my blood begins to spill
the crowd cheers teasingly amidst my own screams

Show him mercy they jest and I know its a lie
They throw stones and sharp glass and I lose my right eye
so I start to fall but the ropes hold me tight
this is how my life ends on this terrible night

You steal the luminescence from all those around you
Running through life as a blunderbuss
Not caring how others think and feel

This Is Sorrow

T here is an endless scream echoing in my head
H eeding no request to cease or desist
I t fills my mind to the brim of despair
S o I just sit in a dark corner and cry

I can sometimes suppress and dim the insanity
S ometimes is not always good enough to build hope

S o I just wait, wait for something to change, wait for death
O r I sometimes convince myself that life is a lie
R aving lunacy or simple madness may be the cause
R easons for these thoughts and screams have not been found
O paque thoughts slip through and speak wisdom

Happy Halloween Everyone, I wrote this one years ago, but I find it appropriate for Halloween even though it is about losing ones sanity and raving with vengeance.

Dementia
Ghostly daemons stabbing at my psyche,
Leeching the love of those around me
Ghastly cowards feasting on my senses
You bastards surround me

Hatred and Putrid beings all around me
Mocking and poking with their cocky ways
How they all shall breathe their final breath
When I get my way
