Our Boston Terrier

Light Poems
19 Nov 2009

In honor of our beloved dog who had to be put to sleep after his health was too badly impacted by constant violent seizures, I wrote this poem to honor his memory to our family. This was the best dog and family friend anyone could ask for.

Gouda

Our Boston Terrier

A striped white head
On brindle colored body
Majestic stance of a statue
Energy level of the gods

You ran through our hearts
You ran through our soul
A child not of human flesh and bone
But of our spirit and family

A smile graced your face
A playful bark every day
You are the joy of our home
You bring smiles every day

You bring so much love
Tender heart care too much
Even when ill you try to comfort
You deserve the comfort now

Sweet, Tender dog of ours
May you find peace in the end
You deserve to run fields
And chase lizards forever in time

Thank you for the memories
And sharing our warm home
Each time you had an accident
Perhaps we expected too much

Eight years was surely not enough
Your friendship and companionship too short
You were the best friend on four legs ever
You were like another child to us

Dedicated To Our Loving Boston Terrier: Gouda Emmenthaler Germino

My Possession

Dark Poems
06 Dec 2008

My Possession

With this possession I profess
It gives me great pleasure and I digress
A ring on my finger which means much to me
As a bee is to honey and a leaf to a tree

It pains me to part with it for this short while
I miss the intricate carving and gold style
All for a purpose and goal I say to myself
And my possession sits alone tucked in my shelf

So now I am thinking was it wrong or right
That I deprive myself of this both day and night
I feel I am unworthy of what it represents
This has a meaning and I hope it prevents

What occurs all too frequent and causes lament
The harm that I have caused was never meant
I must stop doing this and fully repent
I must give it my all, 100% percent

Twitter Random Poem For November 10th

Love Poems, twitter poems
10 Nov 2008

This poem today was crafted from seven words provided to me by tweeple on twitter. I really enjoy doing this contest where I just ask people to send me random words on twitter and I create a completely original and new poem using the crafted words from scratch. It only takes me about 10 minutes to create a poem once I find a common theme for the words. Let me know what you think of today’s contest poem. (All of the Twitter words provided are highlighted in blue)

Waiting For Your Return

We embraced and said our goodbyes
You would return soon
Time has now slowed to a crawl
As I sit at home thinking of you

Sing me a song in the coldest of winters
Where the wind blows and chill sets in
My sweat will freeze into icicles
My heart will crystallize until it feels your warmth

Love is the only verisimilitude
All I do is lay at night
Waiting to witness your majestic beauty
And this absence leaves me with an excruciating loneliness

So I lay here feeling blue and care to remember
the last time I felt your kiss
our eyes danced with each other
and our hearts beat as one
