Shattered Morning

Sunshine flooded through broken glass
pattern of fleeting quirky shadows mocking
a philanthropic flirt of his lunar mistress
flabbergast on being entangled in this quandary
magnanimous fash crashed like climategate scandal
wave of neophobia and a now unstable future sickening
envy turning into regret over one bovine evening
a shattered morning from a terminal mistake

Flood of purple pain
razor tipped and hollow
freedom impaled with sorrow
in this dainty morass soul
wisdom found with each lash
a struggle ends with no gain
yet we lie awake at night
pondering the what-ifs
would we do it all again
or better yet
should we?

Think back to a moment in your life
where you made a choice
one small choice

The effects which had consequences
of which you could not predict
one small choice

At the time it seemed right
didn’t it?
one small choice

You shall pay for that moment
for the rest of your life
one small choice

You think to yourself
was this worth it?
one small choice

That is when it hits you
one small choice and you think
