Today’s poem celebrates the magic of a simple smile, a gesture that can display everything from kindness, love, deception and fear. Thank to the following twitter followers for the 11 random words (in blue):

@JenaIsle (toxicokinetics), @RemBeatZ (heat), @jmbuckingham (smile), @KathrynVercillo (luscious), @shemah (mourning), @billnega (critical), @R_Arblaster (deconstructed), @SurfCityJay (playboy),
@johnjriewe (blueberry), @chungyen (drinking), @craftyGAgal (determination)

Anatomy of a Smile

With tempered heat
a playful jest
a smile at me
I know the rest

toxicokinetics yield
no deconstructed results
nothing to explain
why a smile exults

no critical luscious smile
my heart in mourning
then my day is brightened
without any warning

As subtle a gesture it can be
some sour as lemon rind
or sweet as a blueberry
so many kinds you will find

A drinking smile
of great determination
can capture the hearts
of a mighty nation

From the poorest peasant
to the richest playboy
a smile is hard
not to enjoy
