Shattered Morning
Sunshine flooded through broken glass
pattern of fleeting quirky shadows mocking
a philanthropic flirt of his lunar mistress
flabbergast on being entangled in this quandary
magnanimous fash crashed like climategate scandal
wave of neophobia and a now unstable future sickening
envy turning into regret over one bovine evening
a shattered morning from a terminal mistake-Poem by Dragon Blogger

exhausted as battle fatigue sets in

captivated horror as his body crumbles
agog free spirits die this day

Like a frumpy peach
baking in the afternoon sun
you lie on the deck of your catboat
reading the latest jeremiad
about the grace of citizenshipFrom the horizons come
a familiar idol of fear and terror
a reprehensible frightening jamboree
as dozens of dorsal fins approach
a telling sign of danger for sureA hyperbole of screams expelled
as if undergoing catheterization
ankles quiver, about to buckle
as the boat is surrounded
terrors from the deep blue seaFeeling like marsupial prey
you survey the water with apprehension
a simple day sailing turned quite sour
lacking qualifications for a solution
how are you going to get out of this?-Poem by Dragon Blogger

The Last Superhero – Random Twitter Poem for July 8th
- twitter poems
-
08 Jul 2009
Today’s random twitter poem “The Last Superhero” was fun to write, it was inspired by imprisoned, disenchanted and DNA and the whole them just popped into my head. I kind of imagined Superman having the world turning against him after years of trying to do good. Thanks to the following twitter followers for the 13 random words (in blue) today:
@daNanner (tarmac), @RemBeatZ (imprisoned), @mattstratton (mortified), @coffeetablepoet (incredible), @KathrynVercillo (generosity), @twitlaureate (ignite), @AnnEvanston (DNA), @SpaceAgeSage (disenchanted), @A_Lan (Chironomus), @or1gb1u3 (irony), @summerbreeze80 (scintillation), @nicolaquinn (pusillanimous)
@jmbuckingham (twinkle)The Last Superhero
Mortified, bound and transported across a tarmac
chiromonus buzzing around in the warm night air
only generosity found in the scintilation of stars
bitter irony, that you are to be imprisoned here
so they can study and ignite your incredible DNA
after you have saved them, time and time again
pusillanimous people filled with a twinkle of fear
now a once proud unique hero of the world is reduced
to a disenchanted oddity and freak of nature
this marks the end of the last known superhero-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Hunt For The Glowing Orb – Random Twitter Poem for April 14th
- twitter poems
-
14 Apr 2009
Today’s poem was inspired by the will-o’-the-wisp word which is a creature that I used to pit against my players in Dungeons and Dragons on a few occasions, everything else fit so well with this theme that although the poem is very much like a role playing story line from a fantasy novel I enjoyed putting it together. Thanks to my twitter followers for the 13 random words (in blue) provided today:
@Rinari (elusive), @stnmoon (Search), @Zorlone (meandering), @Oneunder2001 (teleprompter), @jrgarralda (will-o’-the-wisp), @blm03 (winner), @CarlsJr (Bourbon), @lejonprime (phrenetic), @viktorwalters (buer)
@R_Arblaster (congratulating), @BlazingMinds (growth), @nipplelicious (enhance), @JessicaSieghart (pepper)
Hunt For The Glowing Orb
In the darkening murky swamp
Meandering through muck, the search continues
A most elusive thing once spotted
Magnificent and haunting to seeA single glowing orb emitting voices
A mirage or a phantom you had thought
Echoing the same words over and over
As if reading from a teleprompterPeople thought you were crazy
Hallucinations produced by too much bourbon
You knew the truth of what was out there
You continue your hunt and will be a winnerThey would be congratulating you
For finding and bringing this creature
Or foul Buer spirit back with you
Which would enhance your reputationThen you got your wish and it was a curse
The soft blue glow rising from the murky water
The murmoring and speech garbled and venomous
Your heart beat at a phrenetic paceYour senses assaulted as if reeling from a spicy pepper
A strange tentacle erupts from the glowing orb
It grazes your shoulder and you shriek in pain
As a blue growth starts forming on your skinFlesh decaying rapidly as your thoughts fade
This single obsession was your fate
All you can think in your final horror
Is that you found the will-o’-the-wisp-Poem by Dragon Blogger
