13 Apr 2009
Today’s twitter poem consisted of 9 random words provided to me on twitter (in blue) and is a sad poem with a unique format of only the middle two sentences rhyming in each verse. Thanks to the following twitter people for the random words today:
@R_Arblaster (annoyed), @stnmoon (rain), @viktorwalters (laudanum), @Alrady40 (urgent), @billnega (turgid), @lejonprime (charnel), @blm03 (raining), @shemah (jovial), @filigreegirl (extemporaneous)
Falling Tears
As if our matter was urgent
Harsh words spoken
Hearts soon broken
Tears raining from my heartWhy do you look so annoyed?
It was just a suggestion
Such an angry turgid emotion
From a conversationTears stream from eyes like rain
On my lips I keep biting
We seem addicted to fighting
Like swallowing laudanumNothing jovial remains
Minds numb
Moods glum
Is anything right anymore?Tiring of extemporaneous arguments
Words have shatter our mind
Our fabricated love too blind
To see the damage doneMy soul becoming a charnel
Dead emotions wail
Heart becomes more frail
While tears keep falling-Poem by Dragon Blogger

10 Apr 2009
I decided to read this poem aloud and make it an audio poem as well, for those who want to listen to the poem click on the play button above.
Today’s random twitter poem is about an easter egg hunt and the family reflecting on it, from the point of view of the children to the parents, it is inspired by my own two little boys who will probably feel the same way on Sunday. Thanks to the following people for tweeting the 9 random words used today (in blue):
@Zorlone (humbled), @shemah (hairspray), @PlotDog (frustration), @jollything (Catalog), @bunnykins2 (Anime), @stnmoon (Home), @kikolani (precipice), @Miragi (reminiscent), @wizzardsblog (miscommunication)
The Egg Hunt
Barely sunrise on this warm spring day
Eager children watching Sunday morning AnimeFrustration rising as they wait for the hunt
Would the eggs be hidden out back or up front? The catalog of eggs just waiting to be found
Searching for candy and chocolate like a bloodhoundThe home stirs from the morning noise
Of hyperactive and eager little boysAn outsider would be humbled by this
A family event you wouldn’t want to missThese memories reminiscent of your own childhood
Back then the word seemed so simple and goodLike the hissing sound of a used can of hairspray
The back door slides open as they rush out to playThe children pause to make sure it wasn’t a miscommunication
Then they begin the hunt with excited yet controlled concentrationEggs are finally found, at first just a few
Red and yellow, with shades of purple and blueOne more just found on the precipice of a door frame
Kids laugh, jest and skip as the continue the frantic gameAs this festival lasts for several hours
You sit back, reflect and thank the powersFor everyone being so happy and silly
and that you have such a lovely family-Dragon Blogger

The Apocalypse – Random Twitter Poem for April 9th
- twitter poems
-
09 Apr 2009
Today’s random twitter poem is about survivors looking for each other after a major catastrophe befalls a city, it is based on the 6 random words (in blue) provided by my twitter followers below:
@RobinJP (lifelong), @anefallarme (apocalypse), @shemah (bewitched), @stnmoon (Search), @Zorlone (repugnant), @jollything (Architecture)
The Apocalypse
A lifelong dream shattered
After the apocalypse arrived
You reflect on this
As you search the ruins
Of the fallen city around you
Architecture has become destruction
Repugnant stench of decayed bodies
Assaulting your senses
Sudden movement up ahead
You freeze bewitched for a moment
An arm moving and a whimper heard
You rush forward to clear the rubble
A little girl, no more than ten
Crying and begging for help
Her wounds are superficial
At least she is saved
Only now to face
The horrors of life
After the apocalypsePoem by Dragon Blogger

Racing Home To You – Random Twitter Poem for April 7th
- twitter poems
-
07 Apr 2009
Today’s poem is about someone stuck in traffic on a long drive home from work to his partner, it was inspired by the following 7 words (in blue) provided by my followers on twitter:
@jamiain (drowsy), @filigreegirl (engrave), @stnmoon (Sharing), @conradtheart (procrastination), @heatherpro (traffic), @BlazingMinds (juggler), @SurfCityJay (recycle)
Racing Home To You
Sitting drowsy behind the wheel
Stuck in this traffic jam for hours
No phone to call you ahead
You may think my tardiness
An act of procrastination
Or perhaps a failed balance
A poor juggler with my time
Yet the time that we will be sharing
Is of the utmost importance to me
I engrave the memory of your embrace
In my mind as I race home at a snails pace
Wishing I could recycle this lost time
And instead spend it with you
Instead of here
Lost in thought
Behind the wheel
Stuck in trafficAs always, if you want to play the random twitter poetry game, just follow @dragonblogger on twitter and look for my random word calls.

Aftershock – Random Twitter Poem for April 6th
- twitter poems

06 Apr 2009
Today’s poem is inspired by the recent earthquake tragedy in Italy, my sympathies to the families and friends of all those affected by the events. These 7 random words provided (in blue) were my muse for the poem today:
@coyotesqrl (quick), @jollything (protection), @SJohnson85 (Reprobate), @SurfCityJay (restitution), @jamiain (dismal), @stnmoon (busy), @filigreegirl (shaken)
Aftershock
A busy city night life
When the first shock comes
Punished as if a reprobate
Terror begins with an unknown fatePeople pray for protection
From the thundering destruction
Stone, brick and mortal snapped
Some people crushed, others are trappedThe people shaken
Buildings broken
Lives are torn
Families hurtingAtrocity testing ones constitution
As people try to find restitution
For a dismal disaster that struck
Quick and merciless, such bad luckSpirits will recover
As we help our brothers
We will rebuilt our fallen town
We will not be knocked down-Poem by Dragon Blogger
