The word Museum and the fact that I want to take my kids to see the Night at the Museum sequal this weekend prompted me to write a poem that is my take on Night at the Museum. Thanks to the following people on twitter for providing the 13 random words (in blue) for today’s poem:
@ayakobing (breeze), @R_Arblaster (contemporary), @filigreegirl (Fabergé), @santasdevil (grasshopper), @jollything (Onomatopoeia), @durtbagz (whey), @anefallarme (insecurities), @purplefrogcat (museum), @SurfCityJay (friends), @Zorlone (sirloin), @Owl311 (heartbeat), @ambassador1O1 (surfing), @shellartistree (hummingbird)
Night At The Museum
A familiar contemporary breeze tickles the neck
a uniformed man drops his whey protein shake in shock
heartbeat fluttering like a hummingbird in his chest
the museum guard’s insecurities etched on his face
only sound an onomatopoeia escaping from his lipsMummies, statues, cowboys and Romans
as old friends reunite, rising from crates
powers of an ornate golden tablet
rivaling any fashioned by FabergéWith the agility of a grasshopper
or a dolphin surfing the ocean waves
the guard runs in stark terror
not wanting to be a sirloin meal
to the skeletal Tyrannasaurus chasing him-Poem by Dragon Blogger

21 May 2009
I honestly had so little time to write today’s poem, with my job being so busy and my wife coming down sick, I only made a few calls for words, and only six people responded today with words (in blue). My inspiration for this poem is a new stadium proposal that is trying to get approved in Casa Grande which I read about in the paper this morning. Thanks to the following people who played today:
@mebplus2 (floundering), @jollything (retrofit), @filigreegirl (bluebird), @santasdevil (lawnmower), @RailLife (baseball), @shemah (tycoon)
New Stadium
As the bluebird soars through the sky
smell of the lawnmower cutting fresh grass
tycoon’s question the success of the stadium retrofit
people had been floundering to approve the vote
but now it has come to its fruition
as fans pack into the stadium early
just another day and decision
in the baseball season-Poem by Dragon Blogger
