11 Jan 2010
Today’s poem Slave in Service depicts many potential meanings, though I thought of like a pseudo cyberpunk future where people were enslaved, it could be interpreted different ways. This poem was inspired by the 12 random words (in blue) submitted today by the following twitter people:
@KathrynVercillo (sleepiness), @simetra7 (extravagant), @filigreegirl (nebbish), @robertbravery (frustrated), @jodapoet (paresthesia), @Piratelover22 (radially), @anefallarme (exhausted), @azredneck (margin), @CommentLuv (screen), @RemBeatZ (brewing), @hammyhavoc (nidificate), @wishinghearts (editorial)To help you interpret the poem, I will include meanings/definations of the 3 words I had to look up today:
nidificate = desire to build a nest / building a nest
paresthesia = unexplained numbness or tingling in the skin or body
nebbish = fool, idiot, someone with bad luckSlave in Service
extravagant activities tiring
frustrated sleepiness brewing
poor exhausted nebbish collapsing
thinking only to nidificate quickly
overworked limbs suffering paresthesia
screen of health reveals the obvious
knowing the conclusion you push yourself
running radially with last ounces of energy
yet you collapse at the encampment margin
final words and thoughts silenced quickly
no editorial or notice of your passing
just another used up slave in service-Poem by Dragon Blogger

28 Dec 2009
Today’s poem “Youth Vandalism” is about a child with bad behaviors caused perhaps by the lack of compassion in his life. This poem was inspired by the 14 random words provided by the following twitter followers:
@robertbravery (extrapolate), @Poetic_line (flabbergasted), @donpower (reputation), @rockalong (somber), @mplested (gorge), @SnarkRemarks (compassion), @buddawiggi (egregious), @anefallarme (discipline), @KathrynVercillo (believable), @filigreegirl (hushed), @mikki_fit (metaphysician), @drastician (flippant), @stevejclark (fortuitous), @acnews (associated)Youth Vandalism
Flippant egregious vandalism leaves you flabbergasted
you extrapolate that this somber juvenile delinquent
who is renowned for a hushed monstrous reputation
has been associated with crimes against property
lacking any believable discipline in his short lifeNo fortuitous metaphysician could explain his behavior
a child who seeks to gorge on violence and hate
while deep down craving something long denied
like the simple act of human compassion-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Battered Dream
My dream as sweet as ripe succulent cantaloupe
almost within reach as I approached my peers
but a shock of scorn and loathing disappointment
my success judged by my omnipotent alabaster skin
some self-righteous pontiferous blues fraternity
whose Mithras sigil be nothing but a murky sump
a career solstice as hollow as a brittle coconut
cards held by ignorant resourceful pokeno bluffers
I turn tail, my spirits battered but not broken
my rising star shall shine again someday-Poem by Dragon Blogger

18 Dec 2009
Critical Artist is today’s poem about an artist working on project and is frustrated and not liking his own work. It is inspired by the 15 words (in blue) provided today by the following twitter followers:
@coffeetablepoet (syringe), @donpower (restive), @filigreegirl (bijoux), @GeB0i (tangent), @shonie1966 (art), @Ileane (standards), @KathrynVercillo (preternatural), @RemBeatZ (yuletide), @PottyMouthCon (supercilious), @Poetic_line (allegorical), @DalekKiller (grinch), @dalekcat (somnium),
@blusol (crystalline), @sinned24 (vacation), @yearning4d_sky (wafting)Critical Artist
Bijoux syringe of colored ink on hook in a restive somnium state
as if trying to conform to some art standards, you scoff
like some crystalline preternatural supercilious yuletide Grinch
on a tangent about the allegorical spirit of Christmas
noxious odors of paint and turpentine wafting in the studio
disappointed with your own work you plead for a vacation
by some magical immaterial injection of patience and tranquility
you calm down enough to resume your commissioned project
the statue will be delivered on time after all.-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Laser Revealed – Random Twitter Poem for Dec 17th
- twitter poems
-
17 Dec 2009
Laser Revealed is about an engineer about to reveal a new powerful laser to a waiting crowd, after making a minor adjustment. Today’s words were surprisingly challenging for me, or maybe my inspiration was muted. The word commutate was very difficult to fluidly work in the poem and all of the words had so little in common it was hard to envision what would come out. Thanks to the following people for submitting the 9 random words (in blue) today:
@filigreegirl (Doff), @coffeetablepoet (malapropism), @BlogLuvr29 (intuition), @GeB0i (derivative), @Ileane (ergo), @or1gb1u3 (pester), @cybilscribbles (imagine), @stevejclark (flamethrower), @Piratelover22 (commutate)Laser Revealed
One last adjustment continues to pester you
as you commutate the beam by flipping a switch
heat expands feeling like a flamethrower
success reached by some derivative intuition
test being ready, ergo you doff the screen
astounded crowd reduced to malapropism
imagine the potential of things to come
a powerful laser is now revealed-Poem by Dragon Blogger
