Random Twitter Poem For January 6th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

I was so busy at work today that I took the random words on twitter and had barely any time to really think about it and come up with something.  So I just threw 90 seconds and crafted as quickly as possible just to get something together.  What came out was sort of a chaotic mess, but reveals an inner meaning and actually turned out better than I expected.

Thank you to the following people for providing the 9 words highlighted in blue.

@summerbreeze80 (octopus), @azredneck  (demand), @grumpy79 (faith), @IntegralChaotic (landslide), @mebanded (marketable), @infohwyman (environment), @SJohnson85 (sprinkles), @SurfCityJay (information), @stevebelt (precious)

Bad Decisions

Choices loom about you like the tendrils of an octopus
You call upon your faith and make decisions based on information
Matters demand your attention
Your poor decisions bury people in a landslide
Lies dusted off of half truth fall in sprinkles
One thing you hold precious
Your soul is not marketable in this environment
Confessions cannot absolve failure
Blood does not quench the thirsty
Pain does not end the suffering
Ice does not stop the burning
And in the end
All you can do is reveal the truth
And wait for judgement

-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Random Twitter Poem For January 5th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

I hadn’t done a random twitter poem in about a week and I had to run some errands which prevented me from having the full normal time to do a random twitter poem in one sitting, but I was still able to craft this poem based on seven random words (highlighted in blue) from my followers on twitter who played today.

Thanks to the following people for submitting their words: @SurfCityJay (love), @grumpy79 (euphoria), @izealove (sycophant), @summerbreeze80 (desperation), @WebBetty (fastidious), @SonoranDragon (spizzerinctum), @infohwyman (triumph)

Madness For Love

One is driven to desperation
For the euphoria some call love
Muster up all the spizzerinctum you have
Love need not be a fastidious game

Love ebbs and flows like the tide
It is there without realizing it
It is found without searching for it
Flowing around you like the ocean

A sycophant has no chance of finding it
Nor one whose greed see’s no good
A lonely heart may not even notice it
As a careless one could easily lose it

Finding love is one’s ultimate triumph
Sustaining it is an even bigger accomplishment
All find hope in this ocean of fish
Where the water itself is what you sought all along

Random Daily Twitter Poem For December 30th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

With 10 random words provided today (highlighted in blue) a theme formed from the first several words, but then some curve balls were thrown in and I had to work at it to get them to fit.  Overall, I think the poem came out okay but it didn’t take the direction I originally was wanting.  What do you think?

Here are the 10 people and their words who contributed today from twitter:

@wizzardsblog (hectic), @summerbreeze80 (caress), @coreblox (somnambulant), @azredneck (pharmacy), @Miragi (loquacious), @lejonprime (predisposed), @brullig (smarmy), @izealove (parade), @jamiain (basketball), @_McLaughlin (Tuesday)

Sleep Walking

Having trouble sleeping for weeks
Life troubles are a stench that reeks

Hectic job causes too much stress
With no one at home to hold and caress

Having become a somnambulant sleeper
Losing track of time as I fall deeper

Living this way has been rough
This Tuesday I finally had enough

Smarmy doctor wrote me a scrip
To the store I then took a trip

Pharmacy has sold me this pill
To help me sleep and lie still

A loquacious person in my sleep
I reveal the secrets that I keep

Was I predisposed to this condition
Finding a cure is my new mission

I sat down much later that night
Watching basketball, my hopes were bright

If this pill works, I hoped and prayed
I would flaunt the cure in a parade

-Poem by Dragon Blogger

I deliberately left this poem open ended, leaving the reader to not know whether it works or doesn’t.

Random Twitter Poem For December 29th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

Today’s random twitter poem came together to a theme when I saw the words bone, astonishing and desperation.  For some reason I thought of Frankenstein and this poem is based on that type of scenario.    9 random words (highlighted in blue) were provided for today’s poem.  Thanks to the following twitter people and they words the contributed:

@reginasuniverse (astonishing), @reluctantaqua (bone), @StarMars (warden), @RichLovatt (obsequious), @izealove (paradigm), @summerbreeze80 (desperation), @lmantion (sun), @penmeapoem (partridge), @azredneck (whisper)

If you would like to play the daily random twitter poem game, just follow me on twitter @dragonblogger, and look for my call for random words (usually between 8am and 10am MST on Monday through Friday).

Creating Life

He is the warden of this tower
Creator of life who craves power
A master of art and science
Caring not for what it represents

What could be a scientific paradigm shift
He sets to create a most unholy gift
An obsequious servant carries out his orders
Blessed with a morality with no known borders

What turns out is an astonishing creation
That some would call an act of mutilation
Stitched together flesh and bone
Lying cold on a slab of stone

There would be no sun shining this day
For this creation, the doctor had found a way
A dark storm had clouded the sky
This storm had a purpose and he knew why

A patridge flutters through the tower window
A lighting bolt crashes down from limbo
Electricity funneled to the mangled corpse
Writhing from the shock, its body warps

Desperation sets in as the doctor opens his mouth
At first a whisper followed by shouts and screams
A failure this experiment it seems
Creating life is only in ones dreams

Random Twitter Poem For December 18th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

This lighthearted poem was crafted today from 10 random words (highlighted in blue) provided to me by the following twitter people:

@coyotesqrl (revolutionary), @Miragi (importune), @peteej (tintinnabulation), @lejonprime (prelude), @SurfCityJay (compensation), @jamiain (elephants), @tami_squeak (sublime), @SonoranDragon (schadenfreude), @blm03 (Christmas), @kcarruthers (obligatory)

The Holiday Circus

As the families arrive in eager anticipation
Pouring into the tents in clusters like bees
Clowns juggling in prelude to the show beginning
Parents laughing and children are grinning

More kids squealing in delight at the tintinnabulation
This all new revolutionary show is about to begin
Staff starting to importune the guests to take their seats
That they were about to witness some spectacular feats

Elephants amaze us all balancing on two legs
Trunks twirling acrobatists who land on their back
Their legs stomping the ground, you feel the vibration
Receiving peanuts and treats as their only compensation

A pie that was cast in an audience members face
Cause people to display schadenfreude, glad it wasn’t them
One final act with Santa to finish the show
Leaping off a highwire and landing in some snow

People lept to their feats in with glorious applause
Children screamed in excitement knowing no pause
This Christmas event all found sublime
Arriving before the holidays just in time

The staff converges with an obligatory bow
Clowns, Acrobats, Strong Men and Animals
All appreciate this amazingly great turn out
This was the best performance without a doubt

The Enchanted Pond

The aged woman knew her time drew near
Reflecting on the past, invoking a tear
Ninety decades of life upon this earth
She had once created life by giving birth

She had seen love come and love go
Like icebergs on a cold river flow
Seeing friends and family as well
Her memories are her stories to tell

Dwindling health for these past few days
A fever set in leaving her in a foggy daze
Wearing undergarments and moleskin on top
Laying on the bed using pillows as a prop

She lay there hands folded and fingers intertwined
Peace and salvation she was hoping to find
You could not have called her a fussbudget in life
She caused nobody harm and never caused strife

As she weakened and her death seemed so certain
She moved to the window and drew back the curtain
Amazed what she saw her wishes had come true
A new pond sat in the yard, its water so blue

Her intentions were clear and she knew her direction
Her children protested and voiced their rejection
Her superfluous intention just was not in the norm
She shuffled past her family and out in the storm

Something fierce drove her faster toward the water
One final shout and protest erupted from her daughter
She waded in, incorporating her body with the pool
Her family astounded and thinking her a fool

Magic then happened as her body filled with vitality
What could not be possible was indeed a reality
She started to rejuvenate in front of their eyes
The family stunned at this wonderful suprise

Her wrinkles had vanished, color returned to her face
Breathing so deeply she held her arms out to embrace
Her family rushed forward to her all getting wet
This miracle that occured no one would ever forget

The woman who was over ninety looked twenty again
Her illness and body healed, including her brain
It is as if a wizard had waved a magical wand
All of this from bathing in that enchanted pond

Fire In The Bakery

Something went terribly wrong while baking eclairs
A gas leak followed by a flame and a spark
Broken glass flying and people screaming for help
Trapped in a kitchen clouded with smoke

A desperate situation was starting to unfold
Anxiety sets off like a trap just sprung
The fire extinguisher must be somewhere
Your mind declares this affirmation

Choking now with vision blinded by tears
Crawling toward a small red cylinder
Hands finding it, an act of serendipity
You could not reiterate enough the danger you were in

You spat thick spittle and taste the soot in your mouth
What you set out to do some would consider unfathomable
To flee a blazing fire before losing consciousness
The audible fire sounding nocturne to your ears

Spraying away fighting heat and flame
A path was cleared to the nearest room
You searched one by one to make sure all were safe
Finally at last you departed this sweet furnace

Only one word can describe how you feel
Surviving this terrible, terrifying development
You have proven yourself to be audacious
Now you feel supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Random Twitter Poem For December 9th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

Today’s twitter poem had consisted of 11 random words provided by twitter followers, if you would like to play the game contact me @dragonblogger and send me random words weekday mornings.  I accept one word per person.

The twitter words are highlighed in blue, and someone requested to see who submitted what word so I am laying out the contributors and the words they submitted here:

@summerbreeze80 (conclave), @SurfCityJay (chaos), @queenoftheclick (frigid), @coyotesqrl (grazing), @lejonprime (borborygmous), @izealove (Amish), @elizasea (scrumptious), @jlp4u3 (galaxy), @cheth (breathless), @or1gb1u3 (impact), @blm03 (arrested

The Simple Life

Ban this technology for a simpler life
A life spent against the frigid earth
Time spent tending a herd of sheep grazing
And hearing the occasional borborygmous

Amish have chosen this life of peace
Closer to nature is closer to god
Some would find this way too rough
Too much chaos and too much work

In a conclave the people come together
Celebrating their way of life
Over scrumptious food barely seasoned
Fresher than any ever had before

Speech temporarily arrested for silent prayers
Thankful for all the earth provides
The toils of the people who bring this to us
Harmony achieved within this community

The view of the sky would leave you breathless
No light from the earth to drown out the stars
You feel a part of this universe on which you impact
While eating under the stars of a watchful galaxy

You cannot help but think about the simple life
Where a cubicle and and office phone do not exist
You build your own life with your own hands
Community has a truer meaning

Random Twitter Poem For December 8th

Posted by: dragonblogger    in twitter poems

Today’s random poem had the highest number of provided random words ever at 14 completely random words highlighted in blue.  Many people contributed today many of which are 1st time players in my random twitter poem game, a big thank you to the following people:  @Miragi, @cheth, @sheakoshan, @coyotesqrl, @mebanded, @SurfCityJay, @jlp4u3, @Thyme2dream, @jmedvm, @SocialMind, @TheDailyBlonde, @or1gb1u3, @lejonprime, @reginasuniverse

Bounty On Her Heart

Princes and Kings have tried and failed
To win this free woman’s heart for them
She cannot be won some say she is a restless spirit
A soul with no mate a heart with no shape

Some have offered her silver and gold
Others castles, kingdoms and pieces of land
Her loves cost cannot be summed with calculator
She takes offense to those who try

Infantile men wounded by rejection
Are driven into flashing fits of rage
Threats against her friends and relatives
Are something she sometimes endures

What is it about her some would say
That instills a propensity to fall in love
If you are clever enough to make her smile
You would be blessed to feel so copesetic

Her incandescent beauty radiates bright
Drawn from the energy of a thousands suns
Some would consider her seduction burlesque
Most however find the flavor delicious

A touch by her hand can induce a catatonic state
Lets you have the fortitude to withstand
Something unnatural and ageless about this girl
Which is why the world wants her hand with no exemption

Spitting image of a goddess turned mortal
Flowers grow wherever she walks
Feel her presence and you will understand
Why there is a bounty on her heart

Random Twitter Poem For November 21st

Posted by: dragonblogger    in Light Poems

This poem today was voted to be a light poem and consisted from 7 words (highlighted in blue) provided to me by my twitter friends.  Thanks to the following people for providing me with a word today:  @summerbreeze80, @SJohnson85, @lejonprime, @reginasuniverse, @wizard1974uk, @coyotesqrl, @SurfCityJay

Coming Out Of Your Cocoon

You simple and sanguine little creature
Spending your days growing rotund
Feasting from the flora of the world
Foraging and finding the food yourself
For there is no pie maker to make life easy

When you are gorged to completion
And can swallow no more
You wrap yourself in this silk
This body is now superfluous
And you prepare for your metamorphosis

Barely a whisper from the silk that splits
And you emerge from your cocoon at last
All those around you are stunned to silence
By such colorful and resplendent wings
Your new life begins and you never look back
