Random Twitter Poem For Wednesday February 11th

twitter poems
11 Feb 2009

Today’s random twitter poem I wanted to write something dark and deep, when I knew the theme would be of the underworld I decided I wanted to add a picture to today’s poem to capture the essence of it.  I found on that I thought fit it well.

Thanks to my 9 twitter followers who submitted the words (in blue) today:

@SurfCityJay (cold), @coyotesqrl (scripture), @coach_gold (treasure), @jollything (owner), @Miragi (serendipity), @Heleanora (masticate), @StarMars (lost), @mebanded (Marigold), @jamiain (windy)

Owner Of Souls

There he sits, the owner of souls
Surrounded by flames with a heart so cold
The scripture warns of his great tricks
No treasure found could be worth such a price

Yet serendipity shall never be his
Torment found always in his shame
Peace for his heart may be all he seeks
For his predicament, only he is to blame

Blood colored marigolds grow in fields of fire
Smoke and spirits wander in despair
Souls who have lost their way
Fly through the windy hellish planes

The owner of souls shall masticate on your dreams
For if he shall have none, why should you?
Many more have tried before you
To escape this hellish destiny

His patience is eternal
And so he waits….

Random Twitter Poem For Tuesday February 10th

twitter poems
10 Feb 2009

Today’s poem theme came to me after the word Organizational was cast out to me on Twitter, and that formed the basis of the poem.  Thanks to the following people who provided the 7 random words (in blue) today:

@DavidMercury (frustrated), @BlazingMinds (accident), @SurfCityJay (bubbly), @wizzardsblog (exfoliation), @coyotesqrl (growled), @azredneck (globel), @SJohnson85 (Organizational)

The Fallen Company

A bubbly moment popped by accident they say
Exfoliation of my happiness
I growled, frustrated and angry
Bitterness filled my heart

Organizational skills were not enough
Stocks tumbling around us
Worth millions yesterday
Pennies mere hours later

Go global they said
Extend shares they said
Risky investments they said
Piss on them, now my head hangs

I sit here on top
A fallen company crumbles beneath me
Honor found in silence
My final act of Seppuku

Random Twitter Poem For Monday February 9th

twitter poems
09 Feb 2009

Today’s random twitter poem was fun to write and consisted of 12 words (in blue) provided by my twitter followers:
@MalindaBlue (gratitude), @Sweetnote (renaissance), @jamiain (whiny), @jollything (biscuit), @Miragi (sapphire), @coyotesqrl (survive), @benjphoto (paraclete), @BlazingMinds (hippo), @chercroppin23 (please), @wizzardsblog (bimbling), @lejonprime (cryptic), @SurfCityJay (blue)

This poem is about magic and entertainment as an illusionist wows the audience, the word renaissance really triggered the theme for this poem for me. What do you all think of today’s random twitter poem?

The Illusionist

Wearing deep sapphire robes with emerald trim
A man straight from the renaissance stands tall
His elegance and appearance all neat and prim
Flowing over his right shoulder a cryptic golden shawl

“Silence please” he calls to his fans
Young whiny kids all hush down
Amazing dexterity as he moves his hands
Pulling flowers from air, amazing the town

A biscuit turned into an apple, a magical feat
A trick so spectacular did, it invoke the paraclete?
No bimbling performance given this night
As the next trick was quite an amazing sight

Did we just see a table transfigured into a hippo
And blue fire spouting from fingertips as if from a zippo
Locked in chains and held in water trying to wrestle free
How he managed to survive and escape just baffles me

Amazing was that one final act designed to entertain
Some would have considered the illusionist insane
The illusionists gratitude to the people is clear
As the audience stands up casting shouts and cheer

Random Twitter Poem For February 6th

twitter poems
06 Feb 2009

Today’s poem was inspired by the random word windmill that was provided and tells a tale of a windmill being destroyed by a storm.  Thanks to the following people for the 11 random words (in blue) provided:

@Sweetnote (penance), @lejonprime (Victuals), @azredneck (blender), @DavidMercury (windmill), @infohwyman (formulate), @chercroppin23 (friendship), @WebBetty (blustery), @jollything (scream), @darksaturn7 (bambi), @wizzardsblog (statistical), @SurfCityJay (project)

The Fallen Windmill

Scream of the wind howling in your ears
A friendship forged between cloud and sky
The windmill stands, a blender of air
Sensing something dangerous about to occur
Trying to formulate conclusions on what happens next

Suddenly struck with a brilliant flash
As if it were victuals for the energy beast
Blustery sound deafening for miles
Stone and steel buckle and fall
Penance paid for stirring the sky

Lightning strikes, it is a statistical fact
Yet as the crumbled ruined structure falls
A deer resembling Bambi scurries away from falling rock
An ancient construction project comes to an end
A sigh escapes your lips as you just watch

Random Twitter Poem For February 5th

Light Poems, twitter poems
05 Feb 2009

Today’s twitter poem contained 13 words that were so random that I didn’t know if I would come up with a theme, but as I sat there staring at the words I started to imagine kids playing in a snow covered playground. I started to see the words fit into the poem to describe kids at play and I just started writing. This poem is the result. Thanks to the following twitter friends who send me the random words (in blue):

@WebBetty (reprehensible), @DavidMercury (flourish), @wizzardsblog (merlot), @coyotesqrl (luxuriate), @Jan_Geronimo (sandbox), @MesaAzHomes (plethora), @kar314 (snowflake), @Miragi (orgasmic), @or1gb1u3 (monkey), @Dr_Dalek (eviscerate), @blm03 (excited), @SurfCityJay (usability), @darksaturn7 (parachute)

Winter Child’s Play

Playground seeming magical and enchanting to all
Excited kids luxuriate in this constant snowfall

A snowflake falling and caught by a tongue
Orgasmic screams heard, from children so young

Merlot colored truck burrowing through snow
Aura of laughter creating a surreal glow

Sandbox covered in powdered white stars
Glove wearing hands swinging from monkey bars

A fake sword from its scabbard released
To eviscerate some unseen imaginary beast

A plethora of games and creative creations
The wonder of many children’s imaginations

A frozen swing whose usability should be in question
Kids jumping off with their comical parachute impressions

The only reprehensible act an occasional snow ball
Nothing mean enough that would lead to a brawl

Laughter will flourish for many more hours
Then all will go home and take nice hot showers
