Today’s random twitter poem is about survivors looking for each other after a major catastrophe befalls a city, it is based on the 6 random words (in blue) provided by my twitter followers below:
@RobinJP (lifelong), @anefallarme (apocalypse), @shemah (bewitched), @stnmoon (Search), @Zorlone (repugnant), @jollything (Architecture)
The Apocalypse
A lifelong dream shattered
After the apocalypse arrived
You reflect on this
As you search the ruins
Of the fallen city around you
Architecture has become destruction
Repugnant stench of decayed bodies
Assaulting your senses
Sudden movement up ahead
You freeze bewitched for a moment
An arm moving and a whimper heard
You rush forward to clear the rubble
A little girl, no more than ten
Crying and begging for help
Her wounds are superficial
At least she is saved
Only now to face
The horrors of life
After the apocalypsePoem by Dragon Blogger

Clever use of words! The drama of the life after the apocalypse is present in this poem.
I liked how the event was described from a bird’s eye view, then focused on a single girl! That’s fantastic imagery!

Thanks, your feedback really was uplifting. My poems are usually freeform and are written to evoke emotion or imagery, more than be structured like “proper” poetry. Is just kind of my style.
