The Failed Experiment

With the alchemical powers of an ancient mystic
Chemicals aligned perfectly in your nimble fingers
Butterfingers! as your dexterity fails you
You forget how the effect was supposed to be
Berry colored smoke rising in chaos plumes
An odor as foul as burnt cheese wafting
The mixture denied the satiety of its last ingredient
Hours wasted as frustration and anguish linger
Tomorrow is another day and we can try again.
