The Lost Target
Mission acquired the target now known
Spending a day finding his quarry
Task at hand the moon must first set
The assassin rests with one eye openThe evening blooms like a jagged flower
Red moon casts an unsavory glance
A window lit from the inside, too easy
The rifle is perched on the opposite pitchThe head comes into focus finger on the trigger
The assassin ready to make payday come true
Suddenly he notices his target in his sight
His heart stops and his finger slackensBefore him was a woman like no other before
A face carved by a god he does not believe in
Hair so vibrant it dances like fire
Eyes staring out the window as if she knowsHis gaze lingers a little longer
Her image burned forever into his mind
He tears up the contract and lowers the weapon
A creation this perfect should not be undoneSo from that day forward his life was changed
Giving up the life he had known for so long
The next day when he showed up at her doorstep with flowers
He introduced himself as a local business man-Dragon Blogger

It’s an interesting poem; beautiful language describing a disturbing situation. The ending is quite enigmatic.
I think you could improve it by refining some of the lines, e.g. “Behold was a woman like no other before” doesn’t quite sit, but all in all, very impressive.
