The Onion

I cry clear tears if you cut me
You shall cry too in return
My lines run in circles
My rings too numerous

I can be as sweet as an apple
I can be as potent as a brew
I can enhance flavor
or I can steal it from you

So bite into me
Savor my unique taste
carve me to decorate your plate
serve me as rings or bits

My red skin can garnish
My pulp can satiate
On a hamburger I am divine
I am the onion
