This poem today was crafted from seven words provided to me by tweeple on twitter. I really enjoy doing this contest where I just ask people to send me random words on twitter and I create a completely original and new poem using the crafted words from scratch. It only takes me about 10 minutes to create a poem once I find a common theme for the words. Let me know what you think of today’s contest poem. (All of the Twitter words provided are highlighted in blue)

Waiting For Your Return

We embraced and said our goodbyes
You would return soon
Time has now slowed to a crawl
As I sit at home thinking of you

Sing me a song in the coldest of winters
Where the wind blows and chill sets in
My sweat will freeze into icicles
My heart will crystallize until it feels your warmth

Love is the only verisimilitude
All I do is lay at night
Waiting to witness your majestic beauty
And this absence leaves me with an excruciating loneliness

So I lay here feeling blue and care to remember
the last time I felt your kiss
our eyes danced with each other
and our hearts beat as one
