Unfinished Book – Poem by Dragon Blogger

Once again a challenge from Voices in our Heads to poets to write a poem including the line”Verbum Me Vocat” which in latin means “Word Calls Me”, after reading the challenge I was immediately inspired to write the following, which I just wrote about 5 minutes ago.

Unfinished Book

An unsung story
plagiarizes my sanity
my heart begs to go free

Locked up
such a small world
a typewriter my nemesis
my brain uncoils

Did I even have family
my memories escape me
while in this trance
my regrets unnoticed

Verbum me vocat
and I listen
for I cannot
sleep

The book must be finished

That tugging to finish the book feeling speaks to me..I like your wording!

Thank you, yep I often put my mind in the place of a real professional author's and try to empathize with how they must feel.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed reading this one, I often imagine what Stephen King and other famous writers feel like in such situations.

This is a good one dragonblogger. I am still waiting for tomorrow to post mine.

I went back to the poem and this one struck me. Just like a snake preparing to pounce at his prey.
