This poem was inspired by the many medical type words submitted today (included 2 from JenaIsle who submitted one yesterday while I was out and another today). This poem tells of a disease and is loosely inspired by Outbreak or I Am Legend, but this is a deady Tuberculosis strain which is far more serious. Thanks to my twitter followers for the following 16 random words (in blue):

@JenaIsle (sommatomammotropin) &(ultracentrifugation), @SpiritChaser126 (Tuberculosis), @Zorlone (rubbernecking), @KathrynVercillo (productivity), @filigreegirl (annealed), @drastician (Antarctica), @shemah (freebies), @reginasuniverse (squared), @PowerJourneys (androgynous), @lejonprime (Conjunctivitis), @jeremylewit (lunge), @solitarypanda (decadence), @mykuworld (Radio), @imjstsayin (courage), @craftyGAgal (stained)

Unstoppable Disease

A plague like outbreak affects mankind
science struggles to find a cure
A type of tuberculosis, quite deadly
one of the many viral freebies we pass among us
this is no simple conjunctivitis
unstable squared molecules rubbernecking
separated by ultracentrifugation
an androgynous bacteria that infects rapidly
as if imbued with sommatomammotropin
able to survive even in Antarctica
or the deadliest heats of the desert
a bacteria somehow annealed through time
world productivity slows to a crawl
a lunge toward chaos and decadence
as courage fails us in troubled times
people lock themselves home for good
listening to a radio for word or sign
of a cure that may never come
mankind stained in sorrow
we may meet our final hour
if science cannot save us

CONGRATS on the milestone! Proud for you1 Keep up the good work abd I know your poems are not usual this dark (heck it is not really a pleasant topic,~Tuberculosis~anyway you cut it, is it....I have read many wonderful ones you have written.

Justin, this is an excellent poem, not to mention up to date too!
The lines:
we may meet our final hour
if science cannot save us
are a bit gloomy for me. But, it's still a winner dude!

Wonderful poem about what is such a awful disease. Captured eloquently. Thanks for using my word. I love your stuff. Like Floreta I did not know what it was gonna be about, I think "stained" worked out great, even though like I siad my inspiration is the Stained Glass jewelry I have been making. That is the power of words though right? So many uses, so many meanings, so many combinations. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the outcome, not all of my poetry is so dark, but some come out that way. Play more often, I am soon to reach my 150th Random Twitter poem.

wow, how interesting that the words seem to connect to eachother as a whole! when i submitted my word, decadence, i had no idea there would be so much medical/sickness words which is perfect!!
