Vanity Lost – Random Twitter Poem For March 6th
- twitter poems
-
Today’s poem is about a vain main who was proud of his looks, his hair and his success only to realize his vanity and reflect on the past as a barber trimmed what was left of his thinning hairline. This poem inspired by 6 words (in blue) provided by the following people on twitter:
@DavidMercury (unexpected), @PlotDog (success), @shemah (poltergeist), @azredneck (barber), @fujcycle13 (apologize), @soulpoetrysite (listen)
Vanity Lost
A shining success in your early years
Pompous and arrogant as any man can be
Time can be so unkind and does not apologize
As weathering sets in, an unexpected twist
Hairline receding, looks but a distant shadow
Former memories of your once wavy locks
A poltergeist of the past haunting you
So you sit in the barber chair
A smirk on your face reflecting on this
As you listen to the barber ramble on
A few quick clips with the scissors
Your pride and vanity falling
With the clippings to the floor
You can’t help but laugh
At the irony of it all-Poem by Dragon Blogger

Yeah, can’t say this isn’t becoming me, I was never vain but my own balding inspired some of the poem.
